Godyssey ("we," "our," or "us") is a childcare coordination application designed for working mothers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application. Please read this policy carefully.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: your name, email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account.

  • Profile Information: work schedule, custody arrangements, and childcare preferences you provide during onboarding.

  • Calendar Data: calendar events synced from your connected Google Calendar account, used solely for scheduling conflict detection. Godyssey has read-only access to your calendar — we do not create, delete, or modify any Google Calendar events.

  • Contact Information: names and phone numbers of support contacts (e.g., grandparents, family members, nannies) that you manually add to the app.

  • Children's Information: names, ages, and school schedules of your children, used for childcare scheduling.

  • Message Content: SMS messages generated and sent through the app to your support contacts for childcare coordination.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain our childcare coordination services.

  • Detect scheduling conflicts between your calendar events and childcare responsibilities.

  • Send SMS messages on your behalf to your designated support contacts when you request help with childcare coverage.

  • Improve and personalize your experience with the app.

  • Communicate with you about your account or the services.

4. SMS / Text Messaging Program

Godyssey sends text messages to support childcare coordination. When an account holder adds a contact to their Village, they confirm they have that contact's permission to be texted. The contact then receives a one-time welcome message identifying Godyssey and the account holder, followed by occasional, low-volume coordination messages asking whether they are available to help. These messages are transactional and informational only — we never send marketing or promotional texts.

Message frequency varies and is low. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages, or HELP for assistance.

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your opt-in consent or your mobile phone number to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are used solely to deliver the coordination messages described above and are shared only with our SMS provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of transmitting those messages.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google Calendar API: to read your calendar events for scheduling conflict detection. Godyssey has read-only access — we do not create, delete, or modify any Google Calendar events.

    Limited Use Disclosure: Godyssey's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Godyssey uses Google Calendar data solely to detect scheduling conflicts within the app. We do not use Google Calendar data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models, and we do not transfer or sell it to any third party.

  • Twilio: to send SMS messages to your support contacts on your behalf.

  • OpenAI: to generate personalized message suggestions for childcare coordination requests.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate data.

  • Request deletion of your data.

  • Opt out of SMS messaging by replying STOP to any message.

  • Disconnect your Google Calendar at any time through the app settings.

9. Children's Privacy

While our app stores information about children for childcare scheduling purposes, this data is provided by the parent or legal guardian and is used solely for the purpose of coordinating childcare. We do not collect information directly from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
