I Built an App for Moms: My Journey to Creating Godyssey

April 2026 | New Jersey

Godyssey helps moms streamline village support and prioritize self-care. I built this app for women rediscovering themselves after the initiation into motherhood. Godyssey nurtures the divine mother so she feels supported in showing up fully for her life and her purpose.

My entrepreneurial journey began in October 2018 in Palm Springs. I had received a scholarship to attend a three-day wellness summit to immerse myself in yoga, holistic healing practices, and conversations with some of the most renowned voices in the wellness industry.

One evening, after a sound bath and aerial yoga, I sat quietly by the pool, taking in the beauty around me, when a thought came through clearly: “I am the creator of Godyssey.” I knew it came directly from God. In that moment, my purpose was revealed to me, and I chose to trust it.

That year, I had already felt a pull to create something of my own—something rooted in goddess energy. By March 2019, I brought that vision to life, launching the first version of Godyssey through wellness events for women in Brooklyn and Los Angeles. At its core, Godyssey was created to help women step into their goddess power.

The word Godyssey represents a spiritual journey—a quest of returning to and embodying one’s divine feminine energy. From that, I developed the GOD Philosophy: Ground. Organize. Deliver. A simple yet powerful framework that anchors the brand:

  • Ground is about centering yourself—nurturing your inner world so you can move through life rooted in your power.

  • Organize is about structuring your life in a way that feels supportive, aligned, and intentional.

  • Deliver is about taking consistent, intentional action in alignment with your purpose and your destiny.

This philosophy is a reminder that the greatest journey we will ever take is the journey of discovering and living our purpose, which ultimately guides us toward fulfilling our destiny. God gives each of us a calling, and it is our responsibility to honor it—to show up fully in our lives and give thanks through the ways we’re able to use our gifts to leave a positive impact on the world.

Stepping into your goddess power means allowing your light to shine as you live intentionally in alignment with your purpose. It also means creating space to continually pour back into yourself so you remain grounded, embodied, and connected to your divine feminine energy.

It has taken time to get here, now in 2026. Godyssey has evolved—from hosting wellness events to creating technology that empowers women. Around 2020, when the world shut down, I realized I wanted to reach women beyond physical events. I wanted to connect at scale, globally, to spread the mission I had been nurturing.

At the time, I had no clue how to build an app. I reached out to someone I knew in big tech—a talented Product Designer and Engineer—and asked if she could help. She couldn’t take it on because of her own work, but she encouraged me to explore low-code tools. That moment made me realize I had a steep learning curve ahead.

Life went on. I focused on settling into New Jersey and starting a family. Amidst all of that, I decided to break into tech so I could gain the foundational skills to build something of my own. I worked harder than I ever had, eventually landing my dream role as a Product Manager at Pinterest. Every day, I’m learning what it truly means to build consumer products that delight users and help them create lives they love.

Becoming a mother reignited all of my dreams and desires—even though, at one point, I felt disconnected from my purpose. I had forgotten who I was and what I was here to do. Looking back, I realize I wasn’t just giving birth—I was being reborn. The woman I became on the other side is the strongest version of myself yet.

We often hesitate around the term “Strong Black Woman,” but the strength I embody now has empowered me to navigate heartbreak, healing, ambition, leadership, community, sisterhood, balance, wellness, self-care and joy in ways my younger self would have marveled at. I know that this strength is not my own; this strength comes from God. Motherhood awakened my inner goddess on a whole new level. I realized that I don’t only give birth to children—I give birth to my purpose every day. I am clear on why I am here now. I am on a divine mission, and I must keep moving in faith that the work I’m called to do will yield outcomes far beyond my imagination.

That isn’t to say it’s all easy. Being a single mom of two toddlers, building a demanding corporate career I love, pursuing entrepreneurship, thinking long-term to create generational wealth, nurturing meaningful relationships, healing past trauma, and making time to simply exist in my divine feminine energy stretches me fully.

I wanted to create an app for mothers navigating this delicate balancing act—women rediscovering themselves in the new chapter of life after giving birth. I assembled a small team and created the Godyssey app. Godyssey helps moms streamline village support and prioritize self-care, providing the tools they need to thrive while reconnecting with themselves and stepping fully into their purpose beyond motherhood.

Godyssey is your personal village—right in an app. Import your Google Calendar, add work hours, commute times, children’s schedules, coparenting plans, and your support network—and let Godyssey do the rest. It scans your week for childcare conflicts and alerts you, so you always know where you need help.

With a single click, you can request support from someone in your village. Godyssey auto-generates the message and keeps all confirmations and communication in one centralized hub. No more endless back-and-forth. No more mental juggling. Just seamless coordination.

The result is real space for self-care, clearer days, and the freedom to navigate work and life with intention and ease. Godyssey gives you the structure, clarity, and support to feel grounded, empowered, and fully in control of your week.

Our MVP focuses on helping moms coordinate childcare with their village, with more self-care features coming soon—because thriving as a mother starts with feeling supported and nurtured.

I’m thrilled to announce that our waitlist is now live! We’re inviting our first users—moms in the early stages of balancing work and childcare—to join us. This founding group will receive early access and the unique opportunity to help shape the future of Godyssey. Our first goddess cohort will officially gain access to the app on Mother’s Day 2026!

I am so grateful to the incredible women who helped bring this vision to life: Rachel Bekele, Nariscia Henriques, Yisselda Rhoc and Nicole Guillien,. Your brilliance and dedication over the past two years made Godyssey possible—I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Sign up for the waitlist today to be among the first to experience Godyssey. I can’t wait to hear your feedback and share all the exciting things we have in store. To everyone who read this far—you’re a real one.
